Thu, 23 April 2009  Hi everyone, I am Apricotte Michele and I am starting a brand new blog. My blog will talk about important events in my life, a word of the day, a slang of the day, a survey and any emails from fans, unless they request that their email is not published. (See how I am expecting a lot of fan mail ;-) I will try to update my blog once a week. Today I am going to tell you about my dog’s 1st birthday party. The guest list was as follows: 2 Yorkshire terriers (Leo and Gypsy), 2 Chihuahuas (Katie and Jake), 1 Border Collie (Shelby), 1 Golden Spaniel (Zoe Zoe), 1 very rambunctious Golden Retriever puppy (Rory) – all of their humans, and of course the birthday girl Ginny – a Labradoodle. We met at our dog training place – a large fenced in piece of property and a lot of dogs were confused because there was no training and they could play the entire time. The good thing about celebrating Ginny’s birthday at our dog training facility was that the dogs were able to play on the agility equipment. Everyone loved that. We made doggy goody bags, which consisted of treats and home made liver doggy cookies. The goody bags said: “1 year today” and were left over from when I turned 1 in Singapore. For the humans we decorated cupcakes with candy to look like puppy faces – hence the name “pup-cakes” and brought yummy hot cross buns. Everyone – even the humans had a great time. Ginny even received birthday presents – 2 tug a war ropes, a new squeaky teddy and a GINORMOUS bone. In the evening Ginny attacked her new gifts and even though we insisted that she write thank you cards, she didn’t. So we will say it here – Thank you to everyone for coming to Ginny’s party. Word of the day: Pettifogging. Paying too much attention to unimportant details. Slang of the day: Adorabubble. Cuter than adorable. Survey: Which dog do you prefer. 1. Labadoodle. 2, Labrador, 3. There are some moments in my life , I felt so sad for leaving , somebody or someplace, and few people knows that.
At this time two years ago ,I left for Nanjing from Wuhan ,where I spent four year as a university student ,where I went from a teenage girl into my twenties ,where I had to leave and find a job to support myself, and learn to be responsible for my life independently from then on..
At first ,I did not have too many thoughts when it comes to leave at last , but I did have some sentiments . after completing the answering for my graduation papers on the thesis of “ the predict function of mass medias 。I went out of the two floors building of the literature academy , before the building ,there is the path that is my favorite road in the campus , a wide , clean ,simple road ,with two rows of grand trees on the both side ,I did not know the names of the trees。 it was in the middle of June then , the leaves of the trees are very bright nearly transparent green in the 4 o’clock sunlight , the shades on the lawn at the opposition of the building is so agreeable ,that it reminded me of the short novel of the famous Japanese author ,’the last lawn of the summer afternoon“to me, the novel express the light sorrow for the past good thing and times , all the things just have gone and never come back again , the memory is so vivid and unattainable .a little depressed but far form desperation. And I kind of had the mood myself when went down from the stepped of the academy , we used to gather there every Sunday evening .
The trees flourished at that time of the year , both sides ,the branches of trees extended forth , formed a arch above in the air ,so stood at the middle of the path , look forward ,the trees just constitute a long green door toward the distance. Perhaps ,one of the most regretting things in my lift is that I never tuerly enter the university from my heart , and now when the sun was ready for setting , the long green arch above is closed to me ,and open from the newcomers.
And just at that time ,I had the feeling of leaving , and as the protagonist in the novel , a little depressed ,but what passed was just passed. I felt lonely and uncertain about my further at that moment , and this mood dispensed in the air around myself ,just like every September in the campus , the flagrance of Osmanthus fragrans permeates all the campus .
The first time I decided to write in English is two years ago , my first summer in Nanjing ,after guaduated from university . those days , I lived in the room rented with a young couple , the young sister of the girl , another boy . actually the young couple rented the apartment from the landlord ,and then rent two rooms to me and the boy . they are our second landlord.
Those days , I had no job ,and not much money , I was trying to find a job in this strange city that I had have on recognization at all.
The questions people asked me the most frequently is “why you come to Nanjing?’ it is very hard to answer ,I have no relatives ,no friends in the city ,it was not easy to tell the people you met for the first time or the interviewers who may be your potiental boss, that you come for leaving , the answer seems that you were not such a person who has a almost perfert plan of his career ,his futher and his life I had no plan at all that time , and this was fatal shortcoming ,I did not want to somebody else knew.
After four years first majoring journalism and broadcasting ,two years second majoring in the theory of economic , more than one year preparing for the entrance exam of graduation and after the first exam of the four ,I knew I was lost.
in one words ,I did not know what I could do after leaving school where almost my whole life in 16 years. Yes , I was a student in journalism ,but I could not write a good report , or shoot a good photo ,or shot a footage , I was just one of the students who was out of vocation as soon as he guaduated.
And may be the most simple reason that I chose Nanjing was that Nanjing chose me . , everyone had to have a outlet ,either went to work or contiute one;’s school life for two years or more. The announcement on the blackboard of the dormitory have given the deadline of leaving time ,
