Mon, 4 May 2009 ![]() Yo! The Apricotte is back! - She’s the blogger with the really cool knack. Check this out- but please don’t shout – and read what this blog’s all about! This time I will tell you all about the yummy (and I mean yummy) meal I cooked, the results of my last survey, a new survey, a word of the day and slang of the day. Oh, and I’ve decided a favourite book of the blog feature was missing so I have added it as well as a Shakespearian Insulter- kids, don’t repeat these unless you want to baffle and insult your parents! Could all of you book worms out there please e-mail me your favourite book? E-mail me at: Apricotte Michele I will post it onto the blog- but for me, safety is a first- please tell me whether or not I can write your name. On Wednesday, it was my turn to cook dinner for the family. As Kevin, my grandfather, will be going to Italy on a language course, I decided to make this dinner special. First, it was a black tie event, and I made everyone dress up formally- hahaha! I made really cool, really sparkly place cards (my friend Jessica helped a lot) and awesome menus! For dinner I cooked delicious Veal Limone (veal in a lemon sauce) and an exquisite yoghurt cake that my French teacher recommended. (Yummy…..) To go with the veal (really pork cutlets) were roast potato and green beans. (Yummy x2……….) After dinner, which everyone enjoyed immensely, we played Blackjack, or 21. I did not win, but oh well. There was lots of arguing though! I still have loads of the cake left even though I gave a huge chunk to Kevin who shared it with eight people in his office!!!! Results from the latest survey: 1. Labradoodle- 3 votes New survey: What is you favourite of all these foods? 1. Veal Limone Word of the day: sloe: the small, dark, plum-like fruit of a blackthorn. Slang of the day: Perflippity: Silly. Book of the blog: I am reading “The Book Thief.” A great book by Markus Zusak taking place in Nazi Germany. It is a very gripping grownup book, and I have learned lots of German swearwords (Yikes)! Shakespearian Insulter: Thou roguish pox-marked dewberry! Luv Y'all! Apricotte Michele P.S. I think y’all should know that I am going to Stanford for a Summer Camp in 78 days which is the equivalent of 108 days on Uranus according to my very smart computer, Vicky. Thu, 23 April 2009 ![]() Hi everyone, I am Apricotte Michele and I am starting a brand new blog. My blog will talk about important events in my life, a word of the day, a slang of the day, a survey and any emails from fans, unless they request that their email is not published. (See how I am expecting a lot of fan mail ;-) I will try to update my blog once a week. Today I am going to tell you about my dog’s 1st birthday party. The guest list was as follows: 2 Yorkshire terriers (Leo and Gypsy), 2 Chihuahuas (Katie and Jake), 1 Border Collie (Shelby), 1 Golden Spaniel (Zoe Zoe), 1 very rambunctious Golden Retriever puppy (Rory) – all of their humans, and of course the birthday girl Ginny – a Labradoodle. We met at our dog training place – a large fenced in piece of property and a lot of dogs were confused because there was no training and they could play the entire time. The good thing about celebrating Ginny’s birthday at our dog training facility was that the dogs were able to play on the agility equipment. Everyone loved that. We made doggy goody bags, which consisted of treats and home made liver doggy cookies. The goody bags said: “1 year today” and were left over from when I turned 1 in Singapore. For the humans we decorated cupcakes with candy to look like puppy faces – hence the name “pup-cakes” and brought yummy hot cross buns. Everyone – even the humans had a great time. Ginny even received birthday presents – 2 tug a war ropes, a new squeaky teddy and a GINORMOUS bone. In the evening Ginny attacked her new gifts and even though we insisted that she write thank you cards, she didn’t. So we will say it here – Thank you to everyone for coming to Ginny’s party. Word of the day: Pettifogging. Paying too much attention to unimportant details. Slang of the day: Adorabubble. Cuter than adorable. Survey: Which dog do you prefer. 1. Labadoodle. 2, Labrador, 3. Poodle, 4. Yorkshire Terrier, 5. German Shepherd, 6. Border Collie. Send your answer to Apricotte Michele . I will post the answers in my next blog. Looking forward to hearing from you. Love ya all, Apricotte Michele (and a woof from Ginny) Category: general -- posted at: 5:32 AM Comments[33] |
